The KVD beauty Good Apple Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Foundation Balm is USD 38.00. It’s available at Sephora as well as other retailers. The foundation comes in a clear plastic container that can be recycled 100%. This foundation was packaged in a precise plastic compact that is 100% recyclable. The brand made it clear that it intended to reduce waste. Many foundations use excessive packaging that includes mirrors and other components. This is a waste.

It is simple, so it feels cheap. Although I believe the brand is trying sustainability, I am an outsider working in the industry. It is possible that the packaging is very inexpensive and allows the company to make maximum profits.

SHADES

The foundation is available in 40 shades, with three different undertones per shade. This shade range has become a standard in the cosmetics industry as brands try to appeal to all skin types. This is still impressive, as only some brands will release a new product with so many shades. I appreciate the inclusion of different skin undertones. Many brands skip over neutral undertones. My skin isn’t too warm, even though I have medium-tan skin. Foundations with warm or cool undertones can be too warm for me.

To match my shade, I had to pick my shade blindly using only the promotional photos on the Sephra website. These photos, shockingly, are an accurate representation. I matched my face with the different looks and not the descriptions of the shades. Many brands need to adequately describe their shades or provide more shade references to allow someone to shop online for this foundation.

Medium 039 I chose this shade due to its description of “medium skin with neutral underneath tones” and because the model used had a similar skin tone to mine. Although it looks warm in the pan, it has the right amount of warmth where it isn’t too yellow or too orange. This shade is very neutral and matches my NC30-35 skin perfectly.

FORMULA

This foundation is PIGMENTED. You have probably yet to see the viral videos of this foundation. It covers EVERYTHING. This foundation is full coverage. This is not surprising since KVD Beauty has many formulas that can cover tattoos. Because you can’t have both a full-coverage foundation and only limited shades, they offer a wide range of colors. The shade range is extensive, so there should be a match for everyone.

This formula can be worn sheerer by simply rubbing a little on the skin and then buffing it into the skin. The formula’s creamy texture means the brush can pick up more products than you would like. This product will cover any pigmentation, discoloration, or imperfections. Because of the flawless coverage, your skin will look doll-like. This formula feels light and provides a full range. It offers great coverage!
