I could cross the Dyson Airwrap from my wish list this year. This is a hair tool that I have been interested in for many years but was always reluctant to purchase because of its high price. After using it for a few months, I am ready to share my honest opinion on the hair tool. This review will discuss the Dyson Airwrap and what it is best suited for.

HOW TO USE IT FOR YOUR HAIR

You can use it in many different ways because it’s multi-styled. This is the way I use it. I use the pre-styling drying dryer for about a minute for volume and fullness. Then, I switch to the round volumizing brushes to dry my hair. Because I have fine hair, I prefer to add volume to my hair before curling attachments. This attachment is also useful for controlling my cowlick at the back of my hair.

If you want to curl your hair after I finish, I use the 1.2-inch Airwrap barrel in small sections. The airwrap should be held up to your hair and then turned on. After a few seconds, wrap your hair around the wrap. Finish the style with a cool shot to curl the hair. This is a great way to get your hair looking good! Turn off the airwrap to remove your hair. The curls will fall perfectly. It won’t tangle or sucking your hair, so there is no need to worry. It wraps completely around the outside. Trust me, my fine hair won’t get sucked into if it does not! My regular curling iron clamp actually causes me more hair loss.

PROTIP: The biggest mistake people make when they first try this product is not letting it do the work. Leave two inches of hair undo it. Then turn the airwrap on to curl your hair. Another mistake people make is not switching off the airwrap after removing their hair. This will keep your curl intact and prevent the airwrap frothing all over your hair. Third, cut off a small section if your hair falls out of the barrel.

HOW TO USE THE DYSON AIRWRAP ATTACHMENTS

It is the most difficult thing to learn about the barrels’ direction. Two barrels of the same size can be made because each one is different. To visualize the direction of curls, I wrap my finger around barrel. But if the wrong one is put on it’s fine. You can switch the sides or move to the opposite side. You can use the airwrap on the opposite side if you don’t wish to change the barrel direction. I switch the barrels out as I go up my hair, usually switching them in small sections.

Dyson suggests that you use the styler with dry hair. It doesn’t matter if you have dry hair. I use a volumizing oil to help curls last longer and retain volume. It’s not a necessity and I don’t use it all the time. If you feel the style could be more lasting, this step might be for you!

Who do you recommend the AIRWRAP FOR TO?

This tool is ideal for anyone looking to style frizzy hair or create volume in flat hair. It can be used on all hair types, from straight to curly.

Airwrap curl attachments create a natural curl that is similar to what you’d get with hot rollers. Hot rollers are difficult for me to use. They don’t hold my hair in place very well and the clips always leave creases. Some people use airwrap to pre-heat their hair before applying the rollers to their roots to create huge volume. However, that isn’t necessary. You can curl your hair with a cool shot if you aren’t leaving the house for a while or want it fresh before you leave.

This is a great option if you need to heat protect your hair. This is a great option for those with severely damaged hair. It’s still applying heat, but much less than a typical curling iron.

You may prefer to style your hair beachy if you want to keep your ends from getting curled. To avoid the ends, you can wrap your hair around the barrel using a wand. You can do it, but I’d rather reach for my curling tool to achieve that look.

Dyson Airwrap is a great option if you want a more bouncy look. Because it can straighten your hair, it can replace a flatiron. Airwrap gives you tons volume.

AIRWRAP VS. CURLING IRON

The Airwrap is not recommended for use with a curling tool. However, it can be used to create curls and waves that are very specific to my hair. The barrel is slightly bigger so the curls can fall out over time. I get a straight look with volume on the ends and a clean look . I sometimes use the Dyson and then curl my hair on the top. This is a reminder for anyone with similar hair types who want it to replace their curling iron, or to achieve very defined curls. A curling iron will give my friends with longer hair and hair that holds curl well a similar look. Dyson has a 0.8″ attachment that creates a defined curl. However, I am unable to find any currently in stock.

The Airwrap makes my hair look so much healthier and bouncy. This was done with dry hair.

IS THE DYSON AIRWAP WORTH IT

The Dyson Airwrap is a luxurious hair tool that I consider a luxury. Few hair tools can even come close in terms of design, research and versatility. This tool was released in 2018. If you are still looking for a Dyson Airwrap replacement, it is unlikely that you will find one. The Dyson Airwrap’s motor is located on the handle. This is what makes it unique. This allows for precise and controlled airflow to your hair. The research and investment made to create this hairtool is well worth it.

CAN THE AIRWRAP EVER BE SOLD?

The Dyson Airwrap is usually excluded from promotions, except for the Sephora VIB sales twice per year. However, they sell quickly and there needs to be more inventory at the sale price. I was able to find one refurbished and have seen them on eBay. Be careful, and make sure to verify the seller before you buy one. It’s always a sign that the price is too high.
